New Parsec Operations
In Canada . . .
Regina and Saskatoon In March, Parsec added two more facilities
for the Canadian Pacific – Regina and Saskatoon in the Western Canadian
province of Saskatchewan. The Parsec
team, led by Supervisor Eric Bosch from Calgary, had actually been in Regina
since January on a temporary basis after the CP replaced the existing
contractor. But, in March, the company
officially received five-year contracts for both locations. Regina will average about 4,000 lifts a
month; Saskatoon will be 2,500 to 3,000.
Calgary In February of 2006, Parsec took over the CP
terminal in Calgary, Alberta. General
Manager Mike Collette says that the sixth and final piece of lift equipment is
now in place for Calgary, and the facility is ready to run at full
capacity. Mike explains that it took a
little longer to manufacture the machines because they required special
engineering to accommodate CP equipment.
New Parsec ContractsIn Canada . . .
Vancouver and
Winnipeg Mike Collette reports that
Parsec has received new five-year contracts for both Vancouver and
Winnipeg. Vancouver and Winnipeg each
will require new one additional piece of Taylor lift equipment at each site. Combined with the six units in Calgary and
the new equipment required for Regina and Saskatoon, Parsec will have 20
machines running in Western Canada alone.
Three Mechanics Receive Training
Rhomell Carreon from Winnipeg, and Mike Jones and Vincent
Taccola, both from LPC, attended Taylor School in Lewisville, Miss. Their
one-week training consisted of classroom and hands-on diagnostics and repair on
Taylor 974 and 975 sideloader lift equipment.
In addition, Adam Watts from LPC attended Cummins Insite
School in Chicago. There he received
hands-on instruction in repairing and maintaining the electronic components of
Cummins engines for our Ottawa tractors.
